Fabulous venue and dinner Had learned about this restaurant from a neighbour and we so came for a midweek dinner. The booking was easy and efficient, our welcome on the day was warm and friendly. The dining room is very well presented and comfortable. Pre dinner drinks were served at our table (I don't think they have a bar area). Great dinner and drinks menus with sufficient choice at sensible prices for the venue. We both thoroughly enjoyed our menu choices and will certainly be visiting again - probably in the summer when we can also enjoy the garden terrace.

An absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel An absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel. The owner and her team were exceptionally friendly and all the rooms were spotless and finished to an incredibly high standard, with lovely little touches. We had breakfast and an evening meal here and I would highly recommend visiting the restaurant, the quality of the produce was excellent and the meals delicious. It is walking distance to the town and the castle (you can see the castle from the hotel) and a short drive to some lovely beaches. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful and friendly What a beautifully decorated hotel but what makes it stand out is the staff. The food was excellent and the service first class. The restaurant was a great place to get together and we were even treated to a look around the hotel rooms - just wow! I would love to be a guest here.

Afternoon tea is recommended Visited for Afternoon tea for 10 + 2 babies The staff were very accommodating and attentive, discreet when not needed. Thank you ladies. The selection received as the 'tea' was perfect and suited us. We left very little. I think the sausage rolls were everyone's favourite and the scones were beautiful.

Cookies were fantastic Great location and lovely hotel. The attention to detail is very high at this hotel and the staff are exceptional. Stayed only one night but will hopefully be back to experience one of the other wonderful rooms. The history of this hotel made it special.

The Chapel Room for the win! We took a last minute trip for a surprise getaway for me and my wife. We took a bit of a chance on The Cookie Jar and the most expensive room. The Chapel. Absolutely blown away. I've stayed all around the world in some of the best hotels but this could very well be the best yet. Its running our volcano view hot tub room in Santorini close. We didn't want to leave the room. They almost had to get us legally evicted it was so good. Comfortable and beautiful furnishings. Exceptional design that utilises the history of the building. Subtle and indulgent. The shower next to the free standing bath. Waking up to the beautiful stained glass windows. Finally dragging ourselves away to enjoy the incredible breakfast then finding out when we left the hotel that it was yards away from Alnwick Castle (we had arrived in pitch black night). I feel like words aren't doing this place justice. Bravo to the owners and the amazing team and hotel they've you have put together. An absolute jem of a find and not a volcano in sight.
