Introduction to Prevent for Education Settings (Twilight Session)

Ben Hallewell, Prevent Sergeant for North Yorkshire and the City of York, provides an introduction to Prevent. This session will explore websites, literature, signs and symbols to be aware of, the radicalisation process and also heightens awareness of those who are vulnerable to being drawn towards terrorism. This will be followed by some recent case studies from our area, highlighting the benefits of channel panel in providing support, safeguarding and ultimately a counter narrative in order to reduce the risk of young people going on to commit Terrorism offences.
