NPQSENCOs

The new NPQ for SENCOs  and leaders responsible for SEN will launch in autumn 2024 and will be the mandatory qualification for SENCOs. More details the framework for this programme can be found here 

The Alliance of Leading Learning and the STEP Teaching School Hub are excited to announce that we will be delivering the new NPQ for SENCOs across Shropshire and Telford in partnership with Best Practice Network for Autumn 2024!

 

 

 

Replacing the NASENCO qualification, this programme promises to equip SENCOs and Senior Leaders with the cutting-edge expertise and leadership skills needed to navigate the evolving SEND landscape and champion inclusive practices within their schools.

Designed in collaboration with leading experts and informed by the latest evidence, the NPQ curriculum will delve into key areas such as:

  • Strategic Leadership: Fostering a collaborative school culture that prioritises inclusive education and empowers all stakeholders
  • Expert SEND Knowledge: Mastering the intricacies of the SEND framework, legislation, and best practices to ensure seamless support for students with diverse needs
  • Effective Collaboration: Building strong partnerships with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a network of support for students

Scholarship funding eligibility

All maintained schools in England are eligible for limited scholarships for NPQ for SENCOs, however, for the Autumn 24 cohort there has been a change to DfE funding and scholarships are limited to a number of funded spaces nationwide.

Where we deliver this programme

This programme will be delivered in the Shropshire and Telford, however, applicants from outside this area are welcome to apply and attend.   Applicants are only required to attend 4 face to face sessions throughout the duration of the programme.   The exact location of delivery is likely to be Telford or Shrewsbury.
